Nepali Dal, Bhat & Tarkari Recipe

Dal,Bhat and Tarkari is the national food of Nepal.  The words simply mean “lentil, steamed rice and seasonal vegetable curry” and the basic combination varies based on season, region and household preferences.  This combination is usually accompanied with “Saag” which is spinach and “Masu” which is meat, usually chicken or mutton.  Along with this, comes Achaar, or pickle to spice up the dish.

Nepalese consume this staple meal at least once a day, if not twice.  Below is a basic recipe video (with english subtitles).
