‘Kangchenjunga: from Sacred Summit to Sustainable Future’ is the 13th Sir Edmund Hillary Memorial lecture and will be hosted at the Royal Geographical Society in London by the Himalayan Trust on 5th June 2025. Renowned mountaineer Mingma Sherpa and the presenter and explorer Levison Wood will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the first ascent of Kangchenjunga and explore what it means to create a truly sustainable future for this remarkable region. It should be a fascinating insight into this part of Nepal and of great interest to anyone concerned about the country’s ecology and ability to cope with climate change.
